In recent days I have talked with a number of people regarding the COVID-19 pandemic of 2020. Some fear for their lives, while others could care less. Nightly news reports are dominated by the negative impact of this "worldwide pandemic," spawning much fear or, at the least, concern.

I have spent the past 50 years applying 1 Corinthians 9:26-27 ("Therefore, I run thus: not with uncertainty. Thus I fight: not as one who beats the air. But I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, lest, when I have preached to others, I myself should become disqualified") and Romans 12:1 ("I beseech you therefore brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service") to my life, literally.

This mindset -still intact in the midst of COVID-19- translates into working toward good health: mentally, spiritually, and physically.

Concerning FEAR: "God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind" (2 Timothy 1:7).

In our search for good news, something positive that the power of love and of a sound mind provides, let's take a deep breath, step away from the news media, and realize our help is from God alone, whether we're in the midst of a "worldwide pandemic" or in a time of peace and security.

Praying these words will encourage and provide hope!

Blessed to bless,

Ann
