FAQ's

"Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened” Matthew 7:7-8.

Guests from all Bible-believing churches, organizations and backgrounds are welcomed to be considered for visits with us – depending on availability of accommodations.

Our goal is for all our guests to stay free of charge. The Haven is supported by the generosity of our ministry partners. In the process of starting this ministry, all donations are accepted. We want to grow a wide community of donors to cover our basic operating expenses. The Haven staff raises their own support independent of the HMCC ministry. (Suggested donation is $25/person per day.)

While visiting The Haven our prayer is that each guest be ministered to by the Holy Spirit. There is no specific agenda for your activities although we do encourage spending most of your time seeking and being quiet before the Lord. We will provide details of the area so you can easily find your way to churches, shopping, restaurants, and recreation areas. Again, the goal of The Haven is to provide a place for you to meet with the Lord, refresh spiritually, and find rest physically. If you want to get away with your family for a day trip we have maps and brochures of area attractions.

Yes, we are building an extensive library for that purpose. You are welcome to use the books during your visit, but these will not be available for you to check out and take with you. We also have a large assortment of children’s books, games, and puzzles along with a DVD library. There is a public library close by that you may have access to as as well.

Sorry, we are unable to accommodate pets.

No. At this time The Haven is not equipped to accommodate handicapped persons. Access to all our guest accommodations requires climbing at least 14 steps.

Upon your arrival, you will receive a "Welcome Basket" for your first day's breakfast & dinner/lunch. We recommend bringing some groceries as shopping is limited in this rural area. You will have the use of a fully equipped kitchen to prepare your meals if you like. There is a seasonal farmer’s market nearby and small grocery stores within ten miles. There are two local restaurants available.

Guests may stay for two nights or a maximum of two weeks. However, we are much more than simply a place for lodging in your travels. We encourage at least a two-night visit in order to accomplish the ministry for which we believe God has set us apart. Our vision is to see Christian missionaries refreshed in heart through personal and spiritual renewal, rising to their full potential and wholeness in Christ for the glory of God and the advancement of the Gospel when they return to the field.

We provide towels, linens, alarm clock and even a basket of food for your first day’s breakfast and dinner/lunch. There are plenty of sample toiletries for your use as well. A washer and dryer are available for your personal clothing. There is a laundromat nearby for large items.
